Privacy
PhotographyWeatherAlerts stores the information needed to provide the app: your account details, saved locations, alert settings, forecast-derived alert results, and notification history.
Information the app may store
- Account information, such as your email address
- Saved photography locations and location settings
- Alert rules, alert activity, and notification state
- Email delivery records used to avoid duplicate or excessive notifications
- Basic product analytics, such as created locations, created alerts, sent emails, and limit hits
How this information is used
The app uses this information to run forecast checks, evaluate photography-relevant conditions, send alert emails, prevent repeated notifications, improve the beta experience, and maintain basic service reliability.
Forecast and location data
Saved locations are used to request and interpret weather, marine, tide, astronomy, and related forecast data. Forecast data may come from third-party providers and is used only to provide the planning and alerting features of the app.
Email notifications
If email alerts are enabled, the app may send summaries of upcoming forecast windows for your saved locations. Email delivery information may be stored so the app can track what has already been sent.
Beta analytics
During beta, basic usage events may be recorded to understand whether the product is useful and where it needs improvement. The goal is product learning, not advertising profiling.
Data sharing
Personal account data is not sold. Data may be processed by infrastructure, email, hosting, database, logging, or forecast-provider services needed to operate the app.
Data removal
If you want your beta account or saved data removed, contact the project owner through the beta support channel.
Changes
This privacy page may be updated as the product moves from closed beta toward wider public availability.
